Wowzio - Widgets Platform for Blogs

Wowzio, a widgets platform, targeted at blogs and blog readers, is being launched this week.

Wowzio provides bloggers with customizable widgets that help blog readers easily navigate blogs. These widgets bubble up rich media content, that over time tends to get buried deep in blogs, thus aiding blog readers in their discovery process.

Now, a little bit into how we got here. We launched blogsJam, a simple and fast web based RSS reader at the beginning of 2008. It received very encouraging feedback. Around the same time, we also launched a simple content widget. Since then, we have rolled out a couple more widgets, i.e. a slideshow widget, and a tagcloud widget. Bloggers really liked these widgets, and a good number of bloggers installed these widgets on their blogs.

This was very thrilling for us, as it meant that these widgets were indeed useful, and led to us spending a lot of time working on building a widgets platform, which we are now launching as Wowzio.

Wowzio widgets are based on open standards ( javascript & css ), and supports all blogging platforms that allow javascript to be embedded. The architecture is designed for high performance and scale, from the ground up.

We invite you to come and check out Wowzio, our new widgets platform, and give us your feedback.

C'mon man, what do you take us for? Fools? Keep this number reasonable " - 3,254,328 widgets served! " and don't increase the widgets served count on every page refresh.

The 3,254,328 is the number of widget impressions served, its a counter that updates in real time as we serve out a widget.

Check out our widget on some high traffic sites like http://digital-photography-school.com/blog/ , http://watthead.blogspot.com/, http://private-islands.blogspot.com/ and many more. We had originally launched our widgets under the 'blogsJam' umbrella at http://blogsjam.citipals.com, and are now relaunching under the 'Wowzio' brand at http://www.wowzio.com .

So how do you make revenue from the widgets ? Nothing is free everything has a cost or reason.
